Completely ripped off. After months of email communication with Katie, the owner, a group of us booked the four rooms for one night. Katie assured me that while the restaurant was usually closed, the bar & meals would be available. It was going to be the highlight of our trip. Having driven 6 HOURS from Dublin airport in pouring rain & fog along the Ring of Kerry, Katie tells me she had cancelled our booking! No notification or refund of the deposit paid. She was so rude & dismissive. She then offered us to rent a house and dine in her family owned restaurant in Waterville! I smelt a scam. Still no refund.
First I want to mention that we never had such a breathtaking view out of our room. The room itself was O.K. Our room was in the lower part of the building, that was a little bit strange because the colour leaves the walls in big pieces and the corridors down here are a bit narrow and partially dark. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was disappointing. There are big mouse- or rat traps round the house. It is a wonderful house which deserves more care.
